Please share with your library staff and community! You are invited to join the Bridgman Public Library as we welcome *author William Hazelgrove **on Tuesday, May 24th at 6:00pm via Zoom. Hazelgrove will talk about his book `Greed in the Gilded Age.'* *Book Summary:* *She came from nothing and had no education. But she managed to face down the richest man in the world in open court, live like a queen, and take down a banking system. Her name was Cassie Chadwick and by claiming to be Andrew Carnegie's illegitimate daughter she led a life of luxury only to be caught and put on trial in the Trial of the Century – a trial so engrossing it eclipsed the inauguration of Theodore Roosevelt.* *This Gatsby-like tale includes mystery, money, sex, and scandal. ‘Millionaire’ was a new term in America and Cassie Chadwick was front page news. Using these newspaper articles, Hazelgrove tells the story of one of the greatest cons in American history.* Please join the meeting here: *https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83287211765?pwd=ZzZyQ2Y5ZzhNRlJyeXlWZ1B0U1AxZz09#s... <https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83287211765?pwd=ZzZyQ2Y5ZzhNRlJyeXlWZ1B0U1AxZz09#success>* Hope to see you Tuesday! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Amy Abele amy@bridgmanlibrary.com Bridgman Public Library 4460 Lake Street Bridgman, MI 49106 269-465-3663 www.bridgmanlibrary.com
