For academic libraries, do you still have a Reference collection? We are starting to weed our collection and are curious about other academics' thoughts about reference books-especially since libraries, and how people use libraries, are evolving and changing. We are a small business library. We did a major renovation of our space and a lot of our books (Reference and others) ended up in storage. We also lost a lot of room for shelves, so we definitely must weed. In your opinion, are reference books still relevant? Absolutely. Ours is much, much smaller than it was when I started here in 2000, but there is still a lot that is either unavailable online, easier to use in print, or too important to withdraw.
