We are allowed to wear them on Fridays and Saturdays only, and on Sundays when we are open (which is everything except Summer months). On Mon, Jun 3, 2019 at 12:48 PM Nannette Miller via Michlib-l < michlib-l@mcls.org> wrote:

I let my staff wear jeans all summer long – as long as they are wearing an official library or summer reading club shirt on top. Non rips or holes, of course! I let my shelvers wear jeans all year round – as they need to be able to bend, stoop, and crawl unhindered! Our University uses blue jean Fridays, as a scholarship fundraiser. We pay $5 per paycheck to be able to wear nice jeans throughout the year. The proceeds go to a general scholarship fund. B. Susan, We began a Jean Day program in July of 2013. On Fridays and Saturdays FT staff (pages are allowed jeans at all times) donate $1 to wear jeans. It has served as a morale booster and generated $11,120 for 75 different local charities to date. Our Finance Manager (Amy Goldyn) does a great job administering the program and comes up with occasional special Jean Days (ie Wednesday before Thanksgiving etc). :o) David Conklin Director Genesee District Library (810) 230-3335 Office (810) 732-1161 Fax dconklin@thegdl.org<mailto:dconklin@thegdl.org> Genesee District Library Headquarters 4195 W. Hi Susan, At the Romeo District Library, we used to pay $5 to wear jeans on Thursdays, but they got rid of the fee overtime. Now, we can still wear jeans on that day but without any catches.
