Hello Everyone, We are working with a local cooking school to put together a book discussion group. The program will feature a discussion of a cooking book, followed by a cooking class and/or demonstration based on recipes in the book. I am curious as to whether anyone has ideas for good books to use for such a program. Any input is appreciated. Thanks, Brian R. Johnston Head of Public Services Lincoln Township Public Library 2099 W. John Beers Road Stevensville, MI 49127 (269) 429-9575 bjohnston@lincolnlib.org

I second Ann Bissell's nomination of 'Sweetie-licious Pies'. That book has been enjoyed by everyone who has read it here at CTL. We love the recipes, photography and the family stories that go along with each. ________________________________ From: michlib-l-bounces@mcls.org [michlib-l-bounces@mcls.org] on behalf of Ann Bissell [bissella@baycollege.edu] Sent: Tuesday, October 14, 2014 10:47 AM To: Brian Johnston; michlib-l@mcls.org Subject: Re: [Michlib-l] Cooking Books How about the Michigan Notable book-[Sweetie-licious Pies: Eat Pie, Love Life by Linda Hundt, Photography by Clarissa Westmeyer (Guilford)] Sweetie-licious Pies: Eat Pie, Love Life by Linda Hundt, ******************************************************************** Ann Bissell Reference Librarian Bay College Library 906-217-4079 800-221-2001 Bay de Noc Community College 2001 North Lincoln Road Escanaba, MI 49829 bissella@baycollege.edu<mailto:bissella@baycollege.edu> ________________________________ From: michlib-l-bounces@mcls.org [michlib-l-bounces@mcls.org] on behalf of Val Meyerson [val@charlevoixlibrary.org] Sent: Tuesday, October 14, 2014 10:27 AM To: Brian Johnston; michlib-l@mcls.org Subject: Re: [Michlib-l] Cooking Books Check out “Beth Cooks the Books” – full of great cook book recipes and ideas. http://www.charlevoixlibrary.org/category/tags/cookbooks Valerie Meyerson, Library Director Charlevoix Public Library, MI 231.237.7360 [MLABadge] Please consider the environment before printing this message. I really enjoyed Roy Choi's L.A. Son: my life, my city, my food. It's an autobiography, so there's plenty of content to read, and recipes in every chapter.
