YALSA Summer Learning Grants (and more!)

YALSA 2018 Summer Learning Grants Now Available Through generous funding from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, YALSA is excited to offer two types of grants, both worth $1,000 each: a Summer Learning Resources Grant<http://summerreading.ning.com/page/summer-learning-grants> and a Teen Summer Intern Program Grant<http://summerreading.ning.com/page/summer-learning-grants>. Twenty-five summer learning resources grants will be awarded to libraries in need and will allow them to provide resources and services to teens who are English language learners, struggling in school and/or who are from socio-economically challenged communities. Twenty-five teen summer intern program grants will be awarded to libraries to support the implementation of summer learning programs while also providing teens a chance to build hands-on job skills. YALSA has two new awards<http://www.ala.org/yalsa/awardsandgrants/yalsaawardsgrants> available to members: • Innovation in Teen Services Award<http://www.ala.org/yalsa/innovation-teen-services-award>: $500 award that aims to recognize a member who has brought a new idea to life through their library that has benefited the teens in their community. Apps are due Dec. 1. • Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship<http://www.ala.org/yalsa/doctoral-dissertation-fellowship>: Up to a $3,000 award to cover research related expenses. The award aims to encourage research on teens, learning and libraries, specifically research that aligns with YALSA's National Research Agenda<http://www.ala.org/yalsa/guidelines/research/researchagenda>.
