Winter Walk & Read collaboration with the State Parks

Good afternoon, the following state parks are plowing loops in their park or campgrounds this winter. The parks want to partner with local libraries and co-promote weekly walking groups at the parks. For example, a Friday "Mommy & Me" walk at the park, followed by hot cocoa and story time at the library. Or a Winter Walkers/Silver Sneakers group who could walk at the park, then warm up with good book discussion at the library. For those places with a lot of snow, there are snowshoes that could be used for a Snowshoe 101 program. Please contact Maia Turek, DNR Recreation Programmer at turekm@michigan.gov<mailto:turekm@michigan.gov> or 989-225-8573 to participate.
