2026 Michigan Notable Books list
Hi All, The Library of Michigan is pleased to announce the 2026 Michigan Notable Books list: https://www.michigan.gov/libraryofmichigan/public/mnb/previous-notables/2026... Each year, the Michigan Notable Books list features 20 books published during the previous calendar year that are about the Great Lakes, set in Michigan or the Great Lakes or written by a Michigan author. This year's list is particularly noteworthy as it was the final list complied under the leadership of State Librarian Randy Riley. Randy was the key steward of the Michigan Notable Books program since the early 2000s until his sudden death earlier this month. The list was initially announced yesterday in the Detroit Free Press: https://www.freep.com/story/entertainment/arts/2026/01/11/library-michigan-2... Additional information is available in the press release that was distributed earlier today: https://www.michigan.gov/libraryofmichigan/about/library-press-releases/2026... Details will soon be posted regarding the application period for hosting authors from the 2026 Michigan Notable Books list.
