The Library of Michigan is pleased to announce the 2026 Michigan Notable Books list:

Each year, the Michigan Notable Books list features 20 books published during the previous calendar year that are about the Great Lakes, set in Michigan or the Great Lakes or written by a Michigan author.
This year’s list is particularly noteworthy as it was the final list complied under the leadership of State Librarian Randy Riley. Randy was the key steward of the Michigan Notable Books program since the early 2000s until his sudden death earlier this month.
