Ancient Trails, Ancient Trades: Michigan's Copper Long before Stonehenge and the pyramids were built, a thriving industry flourished near the Lake Superior shores. Native people removed copper from shallow pit mines in large quantities and traded it across the continent. This story, along with tales of ancient waterfalls and hunting grounds-all underwater-will be explored in this session. .
