We had the Kalamazoo Model Railroad Historical Society and the presenter, Mark, has a wealth of knowledge on a wide variety of railroad history presentation topics! https://kmrhs.org/ Their traveling model railroad is currently being remodeled, so it isn't currently available, but is also a very interactive option when it's ready. For libraries outside the southwest Michigan area, there is probably a model railroad / history society near you, because there are several throughout the state and most of them are excited to share their knowledge!
