New guidance recommends masking for: * Ages 2 and up in areas of high transmission * People who are sick or taking care of others who are sick * People with chronic illness and weakened immune systems should consult their healthcare provider on what protective actions, if any, they should take. People should be knowledgeable about the transmission level and infection rate within their community and be prepared to wear masks if the transmission rate increases. The determination of masking is based on the community transmission, which is a combination of three metrics https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/community-levels.html : * New Covid Hospital admissions in the past 7 days * The percent of hospital beds occupied by Covid patients * Total new Covid cases per 100,000 population in the past 7 days People are still encouraged to make the masking decision that is right for them, their circumstances and their comfort level. Libraries are encouraged to review the information in the links above to determine changes to current policies. Have a great weekend! Sincerely, Clare Clare D. Membiela, MLS, J.D.
