The Suttons Bay Bingham District Library is excited to welcome Susan Hollister Wasserman as part of the 2026 MI Notable Books Author Tour. She will be joining us to talk about her award-winning book, Stepping Off the Boat: Stories from North Manitou Island. This newly published history documents life on the North Manitou Island from the 1800s to the early 1940s, complete with hundreds of photographs. The book was selected as a 2026 Michigan Notable Book by the Library of Michigan, which sponsors the statewide Michigan Notable Books Author Tour. It is also sponsored in part by the Library of Michigan Foundation and Michigan Humanities. Thanks to these sponsors for making this author talk possible. Light refreshments will be provided. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event. No pre-registration required for this free event.
