The New York Times bestselling author will be in Howell to promote her acclaimed book, Station Eleven, the story of the Traveling Symphony, a troupe of Shakespearean actors and orchestral musicians traveling the shores of the Great Lakes in a post-apocalyptic Michigan. Blue Frog Booksellers will be onsite to sell copies of her book. Station Eleven was on the New York Times best-seller list for eight weeks, and was one of the best-reviewed books in 2014. The film and TV rights for the novel have been acquired by producer Scott Steindorff. Emily St John Mandel was born and raised on the west coast of British Columbia, Canada. Her fourth novel, Station Eleven, was a 2014 National Book Award Finalist. All four of her novels-Station Eleven, Last Night in Montreal, The Singer's Gun, and The Lola Quartet-were Indie Next Picks, and The Singer's Gun was the 2014 winner of the Prix Mystere de la Critique in France. Her short fiction and essays have been anthologized in numerous collections; including Best American Mystery Stories 2013. She is a staff writer for The Millions.
