A message from Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson Vote safely by voting absentee on May 5 By executive order, Michigan's May 5 local elections in 70 communities across Michigan will be held primarily by mail to help ensure both public health and democratic rights are protected. To support this effort, an absent voter ballot application will be mailed to all registered voters in those communities along with a postage-paid return envelope.
