I hope everyone is doing well during this difficult time.  Though libraries are closed, we realize many residents still rely on you for community news and updates, so we’re hoping those libraries who have an election on May 5 will consider publishing the following update on their websites or in their community newsletters.  Below is the article and for your reference, attached is a list of communities hosting May 5 elections.  As always, thank you so much for your help.

 

A message from Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson

Vote safely by voting absentee on May 5

 

By executive order, Michigan’s May 5 local elections in 70 communities across Michigan will be held primarily by mail to help ensure both public health and democratic rights are protected. To support this effort, an absent voter ballot application will be mailed to all registered voters in those communities along with a postage-paid return envelope. Once an application is received, a ballot will be provided by mail.

 

Does your community have an election on May 5?  Find out here. Voters can also track the status of their absentee ballot by visiting Michigan.gov/Vote.
