JOB: Director - New Richmond, WI (Twin Cities Metro Area)

Director, Friday Memorial Library – New Richmond, WI (Twin Cities MN Metro Area) The Friday Memorial Library in New Richmond, Wisconsin is seeking a new Director. This is a terrific opportunity for someone who wants to get in on the ground floor of planning and constructing a new and larger library to serve this fast-growing community. New Richmond is located in Northwest Wisconsin, an area that is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul MN – WI Combined Statistical Area. The Friday Memorial Library offers the latest services, resources, and opportunities to the community. The board and staff are excited to continue this forward progression as they plan for a new building to better serve their patrons. We have patrons from time to return items, mostly dvd’s, but on occasion books that are smelly. It may be from cigarette smoke or really poor personal hygiene. The odor seems to linger on the materials and some times causes odor issues in the library. We typically air out the dvd’s and / or wipe down with disinfecting wipes. But of course this doesn’t work well with books. I was wondering what strategies others are using to keep their dvd’s and material fresh after being in a smelly environment.
