Disaster Outreach Listserv

After the massive flooding in Metro Detroit I wanted to alert colleagues that there is a Disaster Outreach Listserve for librarians available at the national level that provides tips and tools for addressing disaster events. Some of the tools include website code repositories for building sites to report and address broken infrastructure. For example: "*National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has placed code on GitHub called GeoQ:https://github.com/ngageoint/geoq. Emergency managers can use this code to build customized maps of a disaster area, and allow citizens to upload photos of damaged areas in the community. In this way, the people experiencing the issues are directly alerting their local government to problems that require attention."
