JOB POSTING Assistant Director The Eaton Rapids Area District Library (ERADL) is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to help ensure quality Library service is being provided to the community. Position: Assistant Director Job Description: Under the supervision of the Library Director, typical duties may include, but are not limited to: * Substitute for the Director as needed * Attend Library related meetings * Assist in operations of the Library * Supervise and train staff * Create, plan and execute innovative, engaging programs * Represent the Library at community functions and perform outreach * Assist in the administration and supervision of the public services operations * Write and communicate staff schedules * Participate in collection development activities * Other duties as assigned by the Director Final decision making resides with the Library Director who brings relevant issues to the Library Board for action when necessary. Qualifications: * High school diploma * A minimum of four-years full time employment or its equivalent (7,280 hours) public library experience * Level 4 Michigan Library Staff Certification, or the ability to obtain such certification within the first year of employment * Demonstrated ability to coordinate a variety of responsibilities * Knowledge of public library trends and service issues * Commitment to quality customer service * Familiarity with Michigan Library Privacy laws and requirements for maintaining confidentiality of patron and library records Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, including regularly scheduled evenings and weekends. Salary/Benefits: Salary starting at $35,000 per year. Paid time off, paid holidays and the ability to buy into the Library’s health, dental, vision and retirement plans.
