Essential Duties: Cataloging & Database Management (Core Tech Duties) - Performs copy cataloging for print and non-print library materials using MARC format, Library of Congress subject headings, Dewey Decimal classification system and other industry standards. - Add items records to bibliographic holdings in the Library’s online Koha catalog. - Performs data entry and assists with database maintenance. Materials Processing & Collection Support - Prepares Gift Books for collection circulation. - Creates book club kits. - Assists with the physical processing of library materials as needed. Administrative & Departmental Support - Monitors departmental supplies. - Works on special departmental projects. - Performs related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Education & Core Competencies - High school diploma - Demonstrate attention to detail. - Knowledge and proficiency in working with MS Office. Interpersonal Skills & Community Focus - Strong public service orientation. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Demonstrated capacity for empathy, active listening, and maintaining positive, supportive relationships within a diverse workplace and community. Work Ethic & Adaptability - Ability to adapt to change in the work environment. - Experience working both independently and as part of a team. - Ability to learn quickly and accurately and follow instructions. - Proactive learner with the professional maturity to seek guidance and clarification when needed. - Demonstrated capability to prioritize competing tasks and manage daily schedules effectively to meet operational goals. Physical Demands - Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time and the ability to bend, reach, stoop, or crouch. - Ability to push carts of library books and other materials weighing up to thirty pounds. Preferred Qualifications: - Previous copy cataloging and library work experience. - Some college coursework. - Current Library Science students are highly encouraged to apply.
