Hi, This is a multifaceted question How do you define a literacy kit? Does it need a book? Or can it be an "educational resource"? If you do have literacy kits, how are they cataloged in a way that patrons can find them easily? Do you label your kits beyond the library name? For example, good for fine motor development, builds vocabulary? We are an ECRR library so we are wondering if we should label our materials as TALKING, SINGING? One idea we have is to put parenting tips on our educational resources instead of clinical terms. Any and all suggestions and insight is welcome, -- Mary Daugherty Early Literacy Specialist Brighton District Library (810) 229-6541 maryd@brightonlibrary.info
