Title: Technical Services Manager Reports to: Director Supervises: Cataloging Assistant, Processing Assistant, and Technical Services Assistant Pay Range: $46,000-$54,000 Status: Exempt; full-time. Includes benefits package. Lincoln Township Public Library in Stevensville, MI is nestled along the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan in Southwest Michigan. The library serves the townships of Lincoln, Baroda, and Royalton with a service population of 24,358. We are currently seeking an energetic and dedicated Technical Services Manager to lead our Technical Services department. This is a full-time position. The selected candidate will be expected to work well with the Head of Library Services, Library Director, Trustees, as well as other library staff and volunteers. Position reports to the Library Director. Summary: The Technical Services Manager directs the daily operations and activities of the Library’s collection selection, cataloging, interlibrary loan, plus is responsible for the strategic development and maintenance of Library collections, classification, materials, and related services and activities. This position leads the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures that support strategic goals and objectives with an emphasis on responding to community needs. This position effectively oversees library materials and collection maintenance budget. The Technical Services Manager plays a key role in furthering and promoting Lincoln Township Public Library’s mission, vision, values, and strategic plan. This position positively influences the culture and operational success of their department and the library by approaching leadership with empathy, practicing humility, creatively solving problems, actively seeking feedback, and cultivating positive workplace relationships. Education/Experience: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited school preferred; Bachelor’s Degree plus two or more years of library cataloging experience required • Relevant public library experience preferred. • Extensive knowledge of technical services/cataloging tasks. • Ability to effectively lead employees to maximize their productivity and potential. Expertise and proficiency with computers and related hardware. Must be able to successfully use basic office applications and the Internet. • Familiarity with integrated library systems, preferably TLC. • Knowledge of materials acquisitions, MARC records, RDA, AACR2, and Dewey Decimal Classifications. • Understanding of general accounting and budgetary concepts. • Able to achieve Level 2 Library Staff Certification or higher • Supervisory experience preferred • Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time doing detailed work • Must have manual dexterity, be able to reach in all directions, and manipulate objects, tools, or controls. • Must occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.
