Dear Library Colleagues, Please feel free to post and/or share this invitation to the Pinckney Community Public Library's upcoming "WINTER IS COMING": GAME OF THRONES Themed Event: Game of Thrones will be returning to the Pinckney Community Public Library! "Winter is Coming": A Game of Thrones Event, featuring George R.R. Martin's _A Song of Ice and Fire_ books and the HBO series that these books inspired, will once again be returning to the Pinckney Community Public Library for its second year. On FRIDAY, JUNE 19, 2015, FROM 5PM TO 7PM, prepare to be transported to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros and the Free Cities of Essos! "Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne continues…" The program schedule is divided into two parts, with the first part consisting of presentations that are "family friendly" and open to guests of all ages. Included in the activities from 5pm - 6:30pm are: * Barony of Cynnabar - members of the local Ann Arbor Chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) will do a presentation about their society and chapter. (http://www.cynnabar.org/ [1]) * Legends LARP - A local gaming enthusiast group will educate attendees on LARP, what it is, what they do and how to participate. * Sansa's Closet Photo Booth - Pinckney Players Theater Group is once again generous enough to partner with the library and provided a variety of medieval & renaissance costumes for attendees to try. So, strike a pose next to Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister or Jon Snow and take home a keepsake photo! * Game of Thrones and _A Song of Ice and Fire_ Trivia Games--win for the honor of your House! * Raffle - play a game of chance for a prize! Starting at 6:30pm, we will have a discussion of George R. R. Martin's _A Song of Ice and Fire_ book series and HBO's Game of Thrones TV Series, featuring episodes from Season 5. This portion of the evening contains mature content and may include spoilers for both the books and the TV series.
