FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 19, 2018 CONTACT Farrell Howe Marketing and Communication Manager Kalamazoo Public Library 269-553-7879 Kalamazoo Public Library Partners with Bookbug and Kazoo Books to Collect Books for the African Library Project Kalamazoo, MI – Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Kalamazoo Public Library<http://www.kpl.gov/> has partnered with Bookbug<https://www.bookbugkalamazoo.com/> and Kazoo Books<http://kazoobooks.com/> to collect new or gently used preschool – 4th grade reading level books. The books will be sent to eager children in a primary school in Swaziland, Africa, as part of the African Library Project<https://www.africanlibraryproject.org/>. The African Library Project changes lives book by book by starting libraries in rural Africa. Their grassroots approach mobilizes U.S. volunteers, young and old, to organize book drives and ship books to start or improve a library in Africa. Their method makes a concrete and personal difference for children and communities on both continents. Those interested in donating may drop off books at any Kalamazoo Public Library location<http://www.kpl.gov/locations-hours/>, Bookbug, or Kazoo Books now until September 1.
