Judge Grants Injunction Against PA 269/SB 571

Good news, a federal court judge today granted a request for a preliminary injunction on PA 269. This means the changes to the Michigan Campaign Finance Act impacting our free speech issues are not immediately enforceable. The new law which bans mailers, media ads or robo calls 60 days before a local ballot question was called unconstitutionally vague by the judge. Whether this success is repeated with an actual overturning of the legislation remains to be seen. Watch the MLA website for updates.
