Happy September Everyone! September is here, which means the UPRLC Conference is just three weeks away. We have a record number of registrations this year, but we do still have about 25 spots left, so if you have been thinking it over before registering, now is the time to do so. Fall is a spectacular time of year to visit the UP on beautiful Lake Superior. (maps of parking and conference space attached) Parking will be free in lots #1 and #8 - adjacent to the Northern Center on the NMU Campus. The conference will be starting at noon on Monday, September 21st and will wrap up at 4:30pm on Tuesday, September 22nd. All spots in our post-conference workshops are full at this time. You are welcome to sign up for the waiting list for the AI Workshop with Kristin Fontichiaro, but no guarantees that you will be able to attend. This year we will be awarding a Librarian of the Year along with a Library of the Year. The deadline for nominations is Saturday, September 12th. This year's keynote speakers include Bobbi Newman who will be speaking on Moving from Overwhelmed to Intentional, and we will also have a panel discussion with library leaders including David Votta, Dillon Geshel, Scott Garrison, Jenny Marr, and myself. Finally, we will hear from a panel of Library of Michigan staff members on all things LM. In addition to our fabulous keynotes, we have a wide array of breakout session topics from Library of Things to Conversations Worth Having, and everything in between.
