Hello everyone, We recently had a patron ask whether they could use our 3-D printer to print a prop gun. That question led to a larger staff discussion about what is and is not permitted on our 3-D printer. At the moment, we do not have a formal 3-D printer policy in place, and we feel it would be helpful to create one so staff can respond confidently and consistently to these types of requests. Would anyone be willing to share their library’s 3-D printer policy or guidelines as a starting point? In particular, we are interested in how other libraries address prohibited items such as weapons, prop weapons, or other potentially unsafe objects.
