So we've run into a bizarre issue in the last few weeks and I was wondering if any other library has experienced this. Any time we advertise an Adult program on Facebook we're bombarded with people (probably bots) saying they have tickets to sell to it (please note all our programs are free). We block and hide these comments, and plan to add a disclaimer that programs are free, but it's getting really annoying and hard to keep up with! I wanted to know if anyone else has seen this happening for their events, and what did you do about it? Thanks! Emily -- Emily M. Dumas Library Director Royal Oak Public Library 248.246.3710

That’s very weird! Never have I ever seen that happen. Someone always finds a way to mess things up! Good luck blocking them out. Dave Dave Ewick

I want to know what kind of events you're having that have scalpers interested. Link, please! Haha, it's pretty standard fare as far as programming goes, but the program that first drew all of the activity was a DWW author event. It does draw big crowds but there were still spots left, so I hope no one suckered in on buying a ticket! It even happened on a children's event recently which was a first.
