Board Meeting Frequency
Hello All, My Board, which currently meets monthly, is considering reducing the frequency of their meeting schedule. For those libraries whose boards meet less than 12 times a year, especially those that meet every other month, could you please share the pros and cons of meeting less often? Thank you in advance! More pros than cons. Monthly mtgs, many times I was really searching for agenda items. When we went to every other month it was with the caveat if something needed immediate attention we would schedule a special mtg. We recently transitioned to holding meetings every other month for similar reasons—having difficulty filling agendas. The new schedule has been incredibly effective for us. Interestingly, I reached out to approximately 20 other libraries facing similar challenges, and they too have implemented this change and are highly satisfied with the results.
