Some of you may remember the Young Adult author Ned Vizzini ("Teen Angst," "It's Kind of a Funny Story") who spoke at an MLA Spring Institute several years ago. Our schools and library had a special relationship with him (He visited Morenci at least four times) and were so shocked and sad when we learned that he committed suicide last week. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/12/21/books/ned-vizzini-author-of-teenage-novels... I heard him speak at that Spring Institute. He seemed so-o-o young and enthusiastic. I heard of his suicide a few days ago, and it really got to me too.
