The Alpena County George N. Fletcher Public Library is presenting former Poet Laureate and Detroit native Philip Levine at the Alpena High School Auditorium on Sunday, October 19 at 7pm. A reception and signing follow the reading. Levine has published numerous books of poetry. He has won a Pulitizer Prize for poetry and several of his books have won a National Book Award. He was Poet Laureate of the United States from 2011-2012. Tickets are $10 and are available on the Library’s website www.alpenalibrary.org or at the door.
