The 2022 National Voter Registration Day campaign has launched. WHAT IS NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY? Celebrated every September, NVRD<https://nationalvoterregistrationday.org/> is a nonpartisan civic holiday celebrating our democracy. On September 20, 2022, organizations across the nation will join a coordinated effort to register eligible voters in preparation for Election Day. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Libraries are essential partners in civic engagement, providing access to trusted information, quality programming, and opportunities for dialogue. Many serve as designated voter registration sites, polling places, or ballot drop-off locations. NVRD provides training, information, and resources that make it easy and fun for libraries to host and promote voter registration. HOW CAN MY LIBRARY JOIN NVRD? As a partner you agree to... * Be nonpartisan. We can only work with groups who do not represent a party or candidate. * Be inclusive. Anyone who requests a registration form should receive one, regardless of party, beliefs, or other factors. * Be aware of your state's voter registration laws. This includes any training requirements and returning completed voter registration forms.. * Be non-transactional. You cannot give items of value 'in exchange' for a voter registration.
