Smart Money Kids Read 2027 is now accepting free book requests for April 2027 story times! Hello Library friends, After reviewing feedback from our 2026 participating librarians, our 2027 book will be a new book from an 8-year-old Michigan author: Madeline's Money Adventure! Story overview: Madeline has her eye on the perfect sparkly unicorn but there's just one problem...she doesn't have enough money in her piggy bank. Instead of giving up, Madeline gets creative! She walks dogs, washes cars and provides other services to earn money. She learns about budgeting, saving, and spending, with a dash of kindness thrown in. Madeline's Money Adventure includes Spanish translation on each page, and illustrations that allow for additional teaching to occur for older children while keeping the storyline simple enough for our youngest learners to grasp the salient points.
