They will meet with their members of Congress to rally support for library issues and policies. Innovative outreach programs and strategies sought for 2017 ALA Diversity & Outreach Fair The ALA Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services invites library professionals from institutions of all kinds to submit proposals for the fair, to be held from 3 – 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 during the American Library Association's Annual Conference in Chicago. The fair provides an opportunity for libraries and member groups to share their successful diversity and outreach initiatives with ALA Annual Conference attendees, celebrate diversity in America’s libraries and exhibit “diversity in action” ideas. Eight libraries receive John Cotton Dana Public Relations Award Eight libraries honored for outstanding library public relations will receive a $10,000 cash award from sponsors EBSCO and the HW Wilson Foundation through a program managed by the Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA), a division of ALA.
