Two Panel Discussion coming up at Lawrence Tech this week Jan 18-24, 2016

As part of the Remnant Trust rare book exhibit "Literary Masterpieces: Sacred and Secular" at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield Michigan, there are two fascinating panel discussions scheduled that are open to the public: *Wednesday January* *20 *7–9 p.m. *Panel Discussion: “Should Religion Adapt to Modernity?”* Moderator: Sarah Heidt, assistant professor of philosophy, Marygrove College Panelists: George Alcser, associate professor and chair, Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, Marygrove College Fatima Al-Hayani, PhD, Islamic Studies Reverend Dr. Benjamin Baker, pastor, Church of Abundant Life in Southfield and professor, University of Michigan Dr. Louis Finkelman, co-rabbi, Congregation Or Chadash in Oak Park and adjunct instructor, literature and composition, Lawrence Technological University Dr. Narayanaswamy Sankagiri, The Bharatiya Temple of Metropolitan Detroit Mary Ellen Sheehan, sister, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Doctor of Sacred Theology -and- *Thursday, January 21 *12:30–2 p.m. *Idea Factory Panel Discussion: “From Gutenberg to Zuckerberg: The Technology and Future of Literacy”* Moderator: Paul Jaussen, assistant professor of English, Lawrence Technological University Panelists: Lilian Crum, senior lecturer, art and design, Lawrence Technological University Arthur Marotti, distinguished professor of English emeritus, Wayne State University Lisa Maruca, associate professor of English, Wayne State University -There will be an opportunity to examine the books and talk with the docents about the significance of each work after each panel discussion- Other hours open to the public this week include: *M**onday** January 18 * 2 - 4 p.m. *Friday, January 22 *12 - 2 p.m. *Saturday, January 23 *12 - 4 p.m. *Sunday, January 24 *12 - 4 p.m. there will be additional events the week of Jan 25, 2016.
