I devoured those books at my elementary school library. Mine all had faded blue covers. Reading about the black silhouette drawings sparked those memories. This would have been 1962-64ish. I think we still had some of them at the Belleville Library when I started in 1987. I remember from my high school reading that many books had 191 or 192 pages and concluded that this was part of the production process. Many of them were on controversial issues and probably not very reliable as authors pitched their pet causes. I have no idea why you would remember that, but it probably had something to do with the way books are printed. They start with huge sheets of paper and keep folding/cutting them in half, and they probably wanted the books to be of similar length. It's amazing what sticks in our brains!!
