Hi Michigan Team, I have a feeling that many of our young people qualify for this program and don't know about it. Keep in mind that I have heard it takes a very long time to actually get the money, so please encourage folks to not put money down on an apartment or car before this money is actually coming in! Youth in Transition, (Michigan's name for Federal Chafee funding) is a funding source available to cover expenses related to the development of self-sufficiency for youth who experienced out of home care after the age of 14 and have not yet reached age 23.
