Hello all, A popular assignment for elementary grades through high school students is learning about countries throughout the world. MeL databases Britannica School Elementary<http://www.galesupport.com/migeoipcheck/migeoipcheck-brit.php?database=BRELEM>, Middle<http://www.galesupport.com/migeoipcheck/migeoipcheck-brit.php?database=BRMDDL>, and High<http://www.galesupport.com/migeoipcheck/migeoipcheck-brit.php?database=BRHIGH> offer a wealth of information for students at each of these levels. Students can select from World Atlas, Compare Countries, Tour the U.S.A. and at the Elementary level, Geography Explorer. Need stats, articles, details on geography, people, history, economy, or plants and animals? All of these topics are covered at grade appropriate levels. Want to compare two different countries? That feature is available too and provides statistics, flag image, and articles and media for the selected countries. And, after joining the Britannica Community, educators/library staff have free access to lesson plans and saved content (the Educators link is in the upper right corner of each level opening page). Learning about other countries is exciting. Britannica School can help bring places near and far right to a student's computer. Michigan residents or Michigan library access only.
