Subject: Job Opening: Temporary Substitute Librarian Position We are excited to announce a temporary substitute librarian position at the Chesterfield Township Library. This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about libraries and serving the community. If you or someone you know is interested, we invite you to apply for this position. The Substitute Librarian plays an important role at our public service desk, assisting with information requests and readers advisory. They also help patrons access library resources and services. The substitute librarian fills in hours to cover the library service desk in times when it can not be covered by other librarians. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution. State of Michigan Level I or II Librarian Certificate or ability to obtain same. Possess knowledge of library best practices services and automated systems. Possess knowledge of library classification and how information is organized. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate, both in person and remotely, including via telephone. Knowledge of basic office equipment and standard business software (word processing, spreadsheets, Internet browsers, etc.) compensation: $18.92 an hour to $24.32 per hour on 11 step scale. Schedule: as needed, but most likely on evenings and Saturdays.
