Programmer Recommendations for Kalamazoo Area
Hello all, I recently hosted two programmers and I would recommend them to everyone, especially if you have craftier patrons at your library. The first is Lauren Lasater and Colors & Cocktails <https://colors-and-cocktails.com/>. Lauren led my patrons in painting amazing 3D shadow box scenes. I had previously seen her at the Naughty Nose Art program at the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, and her expertise is top notch when it comes to leading a painting class. Plus when participants didn't finish their boxes in the time allowed, she invited them to come to her shop on the Kalamazoo Mall to finish on their own time. The second is Susan Hanna <basketlady28@yahoo.com>, a local basket artist. Susan brought everything needed to teach participants how to create beautiful berry baskets. While the program was 3.5 hours long, by the end of it, everyone was finishing their first woven basket! All materials were provided and Susan's care and patience working with participants was top notch. I'm not sure how far either lady would be willing to travel, but that being said they were worth every penny in my opinion. -- *Adrianne M.
