The 2027-28 Great Michigan Read: Young Reader Selection Voting As you may have seen on our social media and Michigan Humanities' enews<https://www.michiganhumanities.org/newsletter/>, now through September 28 we are collecting input about a new addition to our 2027-28 Great Michigan Read program: a featured title for children in pre-K through third grade. For the program that will launch in fall 2027 as part of our Great Michigan Gathering initiative, we're looking for a book that will prompt conversation about exchanging stories and fostering understanding. The young reader book will be available as part of our Great Michigan Read program alongside the adult selection, but does not need a Michigan connection or be by a Michigan author. The adult and young reader books will have different content, but will both highlight the Great Michigan Gathering theme of sharing and understanding. Regional selection committees have identified seven titles as our top contenders, and now we want to hear your feedback as we make a final selection. The adult and young reader selections will be announced at our October 8 Great Michigan Gathering launch with Priya Parker at The Henry Ford<https://luma.com/uhmovy2o>. RSVP and join us, or find a watch party near you<https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1nSlFs4AVXGA31g4T6t_7CqquEf_YayA&usp=sharing>! Choose your favorite selection by 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28. Vote here!<https://forms.gle/vCwiJUv1hBmuprVBA> If you have any questions about the current or upcoming Great Michigan Read, please let me know.
