Youth services grants from YALSA

As an fyi, the Summer Reading and Teen Tech Week. The deadline for each is January 1st and you must be a YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association) member to be eligible. For more information, see below. Apply for a 2015 Teen Tech Week(tm) Grant! Now through Jan. 1, 2015, YALSA members can apply for one of twenty $1,000 grants to support their digital literacy programming. ALA/YALSA membership starts at $60 per year. Grant funding is provided by Best Buy. 2015 Summer Reading/Learning Grants Available * YALSA is distributing twenty $1,000 summer reading resources grants. The grant is meant to help libraries boost their collections by providing funds to purchase reading materials, especially those that help English Language Learners and struggling readers. * YALSA will provide 20 libraries with $1,000 each to recruit, train and compensate teen assistants to help with summer reading programs. Individual library branches within a larger system may apply. Applications are due January 1, 2015. Funding is provided by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.
