POSITION: Full-time Circulation Services Assistant Manager (35 hours per week). Includes evening and weekend hours (Saturday/Sunday). QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s Degree or equivalent certification; at least 2 years of public library Circulation experience; ability to promote and maintain effective relationships with other staff and to work in a team environment; demonstrated ability to use computer technology, preferably within a Windows environment. Familiarity with cataloging and MARC records in an ILS preferred. MelCat experience preferred. Experience working with Innovative Interfaces (Sierra or Polaris) automation systems preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with hiring, training, scheduling and performance appraisals of Circulation staff; trains Circulation staff on Sierra, Encore and MeLCat; interprets and enforces circulation policies and procedures; waives circulation policies and procedures based on customer service discretion; supervises shelvers; collaborates with the department head on strategic plan initiatives; prepares statistical data and reports regarding library usage; prepares monthly supply orders and provides input on department budget needs and expenses; assists with basic cataloging projects.
