Hello and Happy Holidays! As we move into the new year, I'm looking for books that will spark lively discussions for my *mature *book clubs, that are in large print *and *available on Libby. I have one group that I was told last week that Large Print is not Large enough! What do you do when you need multiple copies on Libby so more than one person can download it? Thanks in advance. Hi Tina, Since Holly is in Oakland County, your library patrons qualify for Oakland Talking Books. For those libraries not in Oakland County, you qualify for the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled. The only qualification is that they cannot read large print - this could be because of dyslexia, arthritis in the hands, or vision problems. They do not need to be declared legally blind. I've attached a flyer for the National program but since I am in Oakland County what I say next is related to that program, possibly the national program too, but I'm not sure. Patrons have a choice of getting a free audio player delivered to them which they can keep as long as they order at least one audiobook per year. The device is very simple to use and announces its commands out loud. For example, "Stop," "Play," etc. The audiobooks are free and the come pre-loaded onto an easy-to-handle blue square (see the center circle in the attachment called "Elegibility flyer"). They can keep the books as long as they want and to return them, they just remove the mailing label on the front of the blue thingy and the return address is already underneath. Then they just drop it in their own mailbox or a public mailbox. If they prefer, they can opt instead for the Bard mobile app which also has a simple user interface and is free to the Talking Books patron. See the attached "BARD app flyer 2024" for more details. I know this didn't exactly answer your question, but it does offer more options for your patrons. :) Deb Hemmye Library Director Huntington Woods Public Library 26415 Scotia Road Huntington Woods, MI 48070 248-543-9720, ext. 686 Currently listening to These Summer Storms, by Sarah MacLean From: "Michlib" <michlib-l@liblists.org> To: "Michlib" <michlib-l@liblists.org> Sent: Monday, December 22, 2025 1:44:47 PM Subject: [Michlib-l] When LP isn't Large enough?
