Resources Management Librarian

Western Theological Seminary in Holland Michigan is seeking applicants for a Resources Management Librarian. Summary of Responsibilities Assist in achieving the mission of Western Theological Seminary to "prepare Christians called by God to lead the church in mission" by managing the physical and electronic library resources, and providing access to patrons through acquisitions, serials, cataloging and metadata creation. Essential duties and responsibilites -Maintain library functions for - acquisitions (ordering, invoicing) - serials (ordering, check-in, claiming, binding, linking - cataloging (original and copy cataloging of print, e-books, electronic periodicals, processing) and - metadata for the institutional digital repository - Develop, analyze, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures for effective and efficient technical services with a strong working knowledge of current and best practices - Identify tasks and work activities for student employees' related to technical services - Collaborate with other library staff to create optimal access to library resources Knowledge and abilities - Proficiency with cataloging software (Connexion, MARCedit) and standards and formats (RDA, MARC, AACR2, Dublin Core, Linked Data) - Detail-oriented, collegial team contributor, with good communication skills - Flexible with the ability to manage simultaneous projects - Knowledge of Alma and Primo from Ex Libris preferred - Proficiency in Spanish highly desirable Qualifications - MLS, MLIS, or other master's degree accredited by the American Library Association - Two years professional experience in an academic setting preferred - Familiarity with theological studies highly desirable For a full job description and application information see the seminary website https://www.westernsem.edu/about/employment/#toggle-id-2 Deadline is Monday, May 21, 2018.
