Friday, March 8 Archives 101 Michigan State Historical Records Advisory Board (MSHRAB)* with Mark Harvey, State Archives of Michigan This workshop is FREE to attend for representatives of a historical organization! <http://hsmichigan.org/programs/workshops/archives-101-registration/> Register for Archives 101. Designed for small organizations that struggle with how to preserve and organize archival materials in their collections, this workshop reviews proper storage and handling of collections, basic arrangement techniques, and affordable solutions for supplies and enclosures. The session will also address how to organize materials to make them accessible to researchers. <http://hsmichigan.org/programs/workshops/archives-101-registration/> Register for Archives 101. *This special Archives 101 workshop is being sponsored by the Michigan State Historical Records Advisory Board (MSHRAB) and its Save Michigan History program. The MSHRAB is covering the registration costs for ONE person from an eligible historical organization to attend. Attendees must represent a historical organization in Michigan and only ONE person may attend from the organization. Additional representatives will be waitlisted until a few days before the workshop. If space is available, additional people will be cleared to attend, but they must pay the regular workshop fee. An eligible historical organization is one that has archival collections it manages and needs training assistance to further its efforts to preserve its collections.
