Program recommendation - Vanessa Ivy Rose author of Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman “Turkey” Stearnes

Hi, I want to share a program recommendation with everyone. Author Vanessa Ivy Rose is the author of Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman “Turkey” Stearnes which is about her grandfather. She has a great professional presentation and this is a labor of love to share more about her grandfather. I recommend reaching out to have her at your library! Learn why this is important<https://aka.ms/LearnAboutSenderIdentification> Greetings Mary! My name is Vanessa Ivy Rose and I am a local author, educator and podcast host of ABC’s “Reclaimed: The Forgotten League” (which has just received a nomination for an NAACP Image Award). I am contacting you to see if you have any interest in having a book talk and signing at your library. My latest book is entitled “Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman “Turkey” Stearnes". I wrote this book in dedication to my grandfather “Turkey” Stearnes who is one of the greatest baseball players of all time. He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000 (and is also in three other halls of fame) and last year the Detroit Tigers gave away his jersey to 15,000 fans in celebration of the Turkey Stearnes Centennial. Despite Grandpa Turkey’s accomplishments, he is one of the greatest baseball players many have never heard of because he played in the Negro Leagues due to Jim Crow segregation which excluded him from MLB. As of 2020, he and over 3,000 other Negro Leaguers have been recognized by MLB as Major Leaguers. I would love to speak at your library to have a book talk and signing if you are interested for Black History Month or any other time you have available. Please feel free to visit my website www.hofdna.com<http://www.hofdna.com/> or to email me if interested. Thanks so much and I hope to hear from you soon!
