MIX 2014 Call for Proposals extended

.... Please excuse duplication and share with others ... It's not too late! The deadline has been extended to May 16 for submitting breakout session proposals for the August 8 Michigan Instruction Exchange (MIX) conference hosted by Grand Valley State University Libraries. This informal, one-day conference will be held at GVSU's new Mary Idema Pew Library in Allendale, MI. Sessions (45 minute programs, which includes a 15-minute Q & A) should relate to information literacy instruction in one of the following disciplines: Business/Law Health Sciences Humanities Social Sciences STEM The MIX conference is a one-day, casual gathering of instructional ideas and perspectives. Morning and afternoon concurrent sessions will cover topics of information literacy instruction as they relate to five major academic disciplines. Proposals will be selected on the basis of discipline alignment, innovation, and relevance to information literacy instruction. Possible subjects could include (but are not limited to): Active learning Threshold concepts Unique or innovative lesson plans Classroom collaborations with faculty or beyond Connecting with discipline faculty to promote or develop IL instruction For consideration, please submit your name, institution, contact info, position, title of presentation, and abstract (150 word maximum) to mix14@gvsu.edu by May 16, 2014.
