International/Foreign Film/world language films Query

Hello Library Land! I am hoping some (or all) of you can help me. I have a couple of questions for you if you have an International/foreign/world language collection. 1. Do you place new films of the above genre in your new DVD/Blu-ray collection? 2. Why or why not? 3. If yes- could you please tell me if you've had any problems with Guests taking home a Foreign/International film thinking it was in English? I really appreciate any help or feedback you can give me. Thank you all so much! Stay safe! *Shannon O'Leary *| Information Services International Librarian Novi Public Library 45255 W. Ten Mile Rd. Hi Shannon We do have a foreign language section. They are shelved separately from the regular DVDs/Blu-Rays, and have a foreign language sticker on them. I think I get the sticker from either Demco or Brodart. We used to have them inter filed with the rest of the movies but a couple years ago we separated them out. Patrons were really happy because there are many who specifically want foreign language. The sticker helps those who’d rather not. Also we do shelve the new ones in the new section, and we don’t have patrons angry the movie is foreign. They actually circulate quite a lot. Sent from my iPhone

Hi, Shannon: Our international films are processed with a yellow INTL label on the spine and are shelved separately from other feature films. We place new titles in the library's new DVD section, which has dedicated shelves for feature, TV and international DVDs. The international films are pretty popular here, and I've never heard/received complaints from patrons who checked out an international DVD by mistake.
