Yesterday, Governor Whitmer signed HB 4367 (http://legislature.mi.gov/doc.aspx?2019-HB-4367) and SB 200 (http://legislature.mi.gov/doc.aspx?2019-SB-0200). These laws provide Michigan public libraries (and all Michigan government entities) with the ability to obtain and administer Narcan without fear of liability. The Library of Michigan would like to thank MLA, Gail Madziar, and the MDE Legislative liaisons, Caroline Liethen and Stephen DeGrow for all of their efforts on these bills. The Library of Michigan is preparing a detailed explanation of the new legislation and how Public Libraries can comply with the new law. Watch for this on MichLib-L in the coming days.
