Innovation is not as much about developing the coolest, newest thing, but much more about leadership, fostering change, and understanding stakeholder needs. This workshop will examine such areas as sustaining a culture of innovation; building an innovation strategy tied to organizational values; moving from experimentation to action; and assessing innovation. Learning outcomes: 1. Develop an innovation strategy and goals 2. Explore practical activities to implement and assess innovations 3. Define and understand the different levels and types of innovation 4. Analyze the organizational conditions necessary to initiate and sustain innovation This session will be facilitated by *Cinthya Ippoliti,* University Librarian and Director of the Auraria Library at the University of Colorado Denver. This session will be recorded. To receive a copy of the recording, please register to attend. *This one-hour workshop is open to all UM students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other interested community members.* Register for the Workshop <https://umich.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e9b2b5d19629a8e1a9b2e4523&id=1c3997c2f8&e=1bc1eb42d4> *Cinthya Ippoliti* is the Auraria Library University Librarian and Director. In that role, she provides direct administrative leadership for library services, spaces, partnerships, and programming on the tri-institutional Auraria Campus, which serves the University of Colorado, Denver; Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver. In collaboration with the Library’s senior management team, she sets the library’s strategic vision to develop new services, foster creativity and collaboration, and provide professional development and mentorship for faculty, staff, and student assistants. Previously, Cinthya served as the Associate Dean for Research and Learning Services at the Oklahoma State University libraries, and Head of Teaching and Learning at the University of Maryland libraries. If you are unable to attend an event or workshop, it is asked that you cancel your registration by emailing umsi.engagement@umich.edu <umsi.engagement@umich.edu> at least 24 hours prior to the event or workshop. Students that violate these policies may experience negative effects on their ability to participate in future ELO programs. The ELO creates and facilitates programs that involve external organizations as part of the learning experience. It is disrespectful to our community and industry partners when students indicate a commitment to participation and then do not show up to events, workshops, and programs. Additionally, this prevents other students from participating in an event or program that they desired to attend.* -- Kristin Fontichiaro University of Michigan School of Information 4427 North Quad 105 S.
